Mindful Monday: I Watch Thoughts Go By Like Clouds in the Sky.

Being the Observer


  • Sit in a comfortable, stable posture.

  • Allow ten or more minutes for sitting.

  • Notice stillness in the room around you.

  • Focus on breathing, enjoy breathing.

  • Your mind is like the sky that thoughts move across so when a thought arises, watch it go by like a cloud.

  • Observe drifting thoughts and gently refocus on breathing.

  • No longer receiving your attention thoughts pass on by.

  • Thoughts come and go, you remain.

  • You have thoughts, you observe thoughts, and you are more than your thoughts.
